Theoretical and Numerical Study on Buongiorno’s Model with a Couette Flow of a Nanofluid in a Channel with an Embedded Cavity

In the present paper, fluid flow and heat transfer of a nanofluid are numerically investigated. More specifically, reference is made to nanofluid, described by means Buongiorno’s model, subjected Couette flow. The considered domain consists channel that displays cavity shortly after inlet section. transport model for mass conservation, momentum, nanoparticles equation, written in dimensionless form solved employing software package Comsol Multiphysics. Many ideas emerged from this work: visualization velocity stream function, temperature, nanoparticle concentration fields provided, as function governing parameters: Reynolds, Peclet, Lewis, Brownian diffusivity number, thermophoretic number. Concerning typical effects, diffusion seems affect solution much more than diffusion. Nusselt number on upper wall calculated well, results show it proves be, most cases, an increasing Reynolds Moreover, concerning effects shown be negligible.
